Jon has been a core member of the studio since joining the firm in 1989. He is Eastlake’s building code expert, blending technical skill and design talent with nearly 30 years in the field. Jon has a personal interest in architectural lighting as well as the integration of technology into the interior environment. He is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and is a licensed architect in Illinois and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Recent work includes Avant's 120,000 sf headquarters at 222 North LaSalle and an office for Levy Family Partners at 333 West Lake. Other work includes projects for financial institutions Mizuho Corporate Bank and Huntington Bank. Additionally, Jon manages tenant development work for Transwestern and Telos in downtown Chicago. He is well-versed in issues important to building managers and leasing agents from BOMA rentable area calculations to maximizing marketing potential of office space. Recent base building work includes a refresh of two mezzanine levels above the lobby at 200 South Wacker, recapturing long vacant space for a new property management office and spec suite. While most of Eastlake’s work is focused in downtown Chicago, Jon has successfully completed projects across the US from Los Angeles to New York City as well as internationally from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Mexico City. Jon has also led Eastlake's award-winning design for a 3,000 sf penthouse at 600 North Fairbanks and an expansion of the property, as well as design for the lobby of the 2650 North Lakeview Condominium building.
